5 Fall Outfits Ideas: What to Wear Next

Hey friends! Today I’m bringing you 5 fall outfit ideas that will transition smoothly into cooler weather. Of course, my favorite style technique is to layer my outfits, because I’m always either ‘too hot,’ or ‘too cold’! Can anyone else relate??? So, I’ve made sure to include a outer layer that can easily be removed or added depending on the temperature.

Also, I’m joining my blogger friends, Lisa, Michelle, D’Arcy and Cammi who are also chiming in with their fall outfit ideas too. I’m linking everyone at the bottom of the post, so be sure to pop on over to their blogs to see their amazing styles too.

A HUGE thank you to WHBM, Chicos,Spanx, and Vera Bradley for gifting us so many FABULOUS pieces to work with! We (CHIT CHAT CHIC) all met together in Park City, Utah in the middle of August to eat, play and shoot these amazing looks! I hope you LOVE them as much as we do.

Simply Add A Tweed Jacket: WHBM

With this look from WHBM, the tweed jacket will be the one piece that I will grab over and over again all fall and winter long. The neutral beige color makes it super versatile, and gives any outfit a polished look.

I’ve kept this look more casual by adding these darling flared grey denim and pearl embellished slides. The smocked waist white tee can be layered with so many other looks, it’s sure to be a closet basic as well. I’m wearing my regular size in all the pieces in this outfit.

Navy blue & golden yellow are so trendy this fall: Chicos

The second fall outfit idea is this little number from Chicos. I’m not exaggerating when I say that on Sunday people stopped me numerous times to compliment me on this dress! This season navy blue and golden yellow as super trendy. You’ll be seeing a lot of these two colors as fall procedes. I’m not a yellow lover, however I just couldn’t help myself when I saw this beautiful floral. And, notice that the yellow isn’t near my face, but at the bottom of the dress, so anyone no matter their skin tone should be able to wear it.

The style is uber flattering. A typical shift dress, but with a dolman sleeve that hits just above the elbow. Not too tight, but not too oversized! Also, it is fully lined. I stuck with simple yellow gold oversized jewelry, and black strappy heels. However, a nude heel would also be stunning. Don’t be afraid to mix it up a little.

A Romantic Floral Kimono and Skinny Denim: Target and Spanx

This fall outfit idea is a personal favorite. I just love a romantic, flowy look! This kimono from Target is super affordable, and can be styled so many different ways. It is oversized, and has a tie in the front. One way to combat the bulk of the kimono is to knot it loosely at the waist. Again, this adds to that romantic feeling of the outfit.

Simply adding these lightly distressed Spanx skinny jeans, a crewneck tee, and slides keeps the look casual and pulled together.

Sporty and Preppy: H&M and Spanx

The fourth fall outfit idea has grown to be a favorite of mine. It’s no secret that the blazer is so trendy right now. Linen, knit, fitted, oversized, no matter what it looks like, the blazer is in the spotlight these days. This oversized, linen blazer in a oatmeal color can be layered in a multitude of looks. I stuck to my regular size, and it fits perfectly.

Adding these faux leather leggings from Spanx, white button down shirt, and white leather sneakers from Adidas gives this outfit a fun sporty edge, yet looks put together.

NOTE: I sized up to a medium in the Spanx faux leather leggings. All other pieces are in my regular size.

Also, I’d like to thank Vera Bradley, the Outlets at Traverse City for gifting us all with a backpack, tote bag and duffle bag! I just checked, and this black microfiber backpack is currently sold out. However, Vera Bradley has some really fun patterns for the season! Be sure to check them out!

The Perfect Black Pant: Spanx

The final fall outfit idea includes these Perfect Black Pant from Spanx. And, yes. They truly are perfect! One reason I love Spanx is because they have so many sizing options. AND that includes length. You can order in a regular, tall or petite in each of their styles. So important, because we’re all built differently! So, in these straight leg, pull on pants, I ordered a regular length in a medium. (I’d say size up one full size in Spanx pants and leggings)

A long cardigan sweater, white top, and strappy heels gives the illusion of a long, slender look. I kept my jewelry super basic by adding chunky pearl hoops.

Of course, you could always add a pop of color with a fun bag and shoes, or swap out the black cardigan for the tweed jacket from fall outfit look #1 from WHBM. Stunning. Mixing and matching is my forte!
