4 Simple Ways to Refresh and Organize Your Home

Hey friends! Today I’m bringing you 4 simple ways to refresh and organize your home. All of these ideas are practical, easy to implement, and add some beautiful elements to your home.

Organize with large and small baskets

The first simple way to refresh and organize your home is to use Decorative baskets to store larger items, or really anything you don’t want laying around, yet seem to collect in the common living areas! I’ve included some of my favorites here. You might need to measure certain areas, or try out a few different sizes before you settle on the perfect basket. They can be slightly pricey, but remember, you will be able to repurpose them for years to come. They are also easily painted, which can give them new life, and bring a fresh look to a space. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a well crafted basket.

Organize with trays

Another simple way to refresh or organize your home is to use decorative trays which come in a wide variety of materials. Trays are the perfect way to give some organization to the top of a console table, coffee table, or end table. They are my favorite way to group items together. When you are styling a tray, one tip to try is to vary the heights of the objects you place on the tray. Perhaps add a vase with faux flowers or greenery for some height. This will bring a fresh outdoor look indoors. I’ve included a few objects you might be interested in using in the next section. Also, walk around the house, search through closets, boxes, and in the attic for items you haven’t used for awhile. You can easily add repurposed items to these trays for a new, but homey look.

Refresh with decorative objects

Also, an inexpensive simple way to refresh and organize your home is with smaller decorative items. They are a great way to add texture and visual interest to a room. These pieces can also be moved throughout the home giving new life to a dull space. I love to arrange them on a pretty tray, or group smaller objects together in threes to create visual interest. Don’t be afraid to mix and match woods, metals and textures. Also, pull out some older pieces you haven’t used in awhile and add them into the mix. If nothing else, they will be a great conversation piece!

Refresh with larger key pieces

Finally, the last simple way to refresh and organize your home is to use some key pieces that add a lot of visual appeal without spending a ton of money. For example, the minimalist chairs and bookshelf both help to define specific areas, add texture, and give a place to hold specific items in the room. The mirrors immediately open up smaller spaces and adds light to a darker area. Finally, I included a couple of gorgeous light fixtures that would coordinate well with the lighter woods of the chair and bookcase, but since they are a neutral color could easily be paired with darker shades of wood, fabric or metals.

Something to remember is that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to create beautiful, organized spaces in your home. First use the things you already own, invest in larger key quality pieces, and then refresh with less expensive trendy items.
