This fall’s biggest shoe trends are some of my favorites! (I think I say that every season! HA!) However, I’m totally crushing on the ballet flats, loafers, and suede boots this fall! Since I live in Houston, TX I don’t typically wear tall boots, but this season I’ve been drawn to several colors and styles! I’ve even had my eyes on several pairs of dressy cowboy boots! (It’s getting serious over here, y’all!)
We’re seeing these styles showing up in metallics, animal prints, and deep reds or burgundy. Personally, I love to add a pop of color, pattern, and texture to my outfit with a stylish pair of shoes! It’s just enough to add some fun visual interest to a look.
So today I’m sharing some of my favorite pairs with you. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Metallic Ballet Flats

We start with the “star of the show!” Ballet flats have always been a popular choice for women. However, this year has been the “year of ballet flats!” And I’m NOT mad about it either! They are an obvious choice for most outfits, and always look feminine and sleek. Even paired with delicate socks, as we are seeing so much of lately, these flats look fun and flirty! I’ve chosen these distressed gold pair from Dolce Vita since they are insanely comfortable and elevate every look.
Sizing: These flats run true to size. However, I size up a half size since I have a wider foot and the toe box was a little snug for me.
Fynn Tall Boots

Next are these Fynn tall boots in Truffle Suede from Dolce Vita. I’ve had these boots for a year or so now, and can honestly say I get compliments on them every time I wear them. Also, they are available in several colors, but this Truffle Suede always sells out quickly. (They just recently restocked for the fall! Run! Don’t walk!) I’ve found that this shade of taupe pairs well with everything in my closet. So that’s a win-win for me. Even though they have a higher heel, they are still the most comfortable boots I own.
Sizing: These boots run true to size. Also, Dolce Vita has recently launched a line of boots for wider calf, if you struggle with this issue.
Mary Jane Flats

Another form of the ballet flats are these darling “Mary Jane” flats. The single strap over the foot helps secure the foot in the shoe, and also adds visual interest to the shoe. They are associated with a traditional “young girl’s” shoe, yet have made their way into so many of our closets today! I love the neutral nude color here, but they are available in lots of colors and versions.
Sizing: These flats run true to size. I didn’t need to size up in these flats.
Payge Leopard Suede Flats

Animal print is another huge trend this season, and we’re seeing it everywhere! I’m partial to a little pop of print added to my outfit. These pointy-toe slingback flats are exactly what I was searching for. They have a tiny bow on top and subtle metal detailing.
**Please Note** These flats are a little bit narrow in the toe box. Also, the pointy toe is slightly longer than a regular shoe. It takes a minute to get used to the length of the shoe. Also, the leather has stretched out a bit, and they aren’t nearly as snug as they were at first.
Sizing: Run true to size, but are a little snug in the toe box for people with wider feet.
Jola Slingback Pumps

Next is this deep red slingback pump from Easy Spirit. Rest assured that this shoe is SUPER comfortable and provides proper arch support that we’ve come to expect from this brand! However, this slingback is equally chic and polished as it is comfortable! I love the animal print detail in the band across the toe, and on the chunky block heel. This year we have certainly seen the resurgence of the slingback style pumps! It’s totally a favorite of mine!
Sizing: These shoes run true to size. ( go with your larger shoe size with this brand)
Astrid Loafers

Finally, the classic loafer is nothing new in the fashion world. However, this season we are seeing a sleeker and more classic styling of this shoe. I’m obsessed with these Italian handmade loafers from Beckett Simonon. The gold horse bit detail gives it that elevated look. These loafers are specially made after you submit your order by seasoned artisans. The fit is truly second to none! I wish I had them in every color!
Sizing: These loafers run true to size. ( I went with my larger shoe size, and they are perfect! Keep in mine they are entirely made of leather and will stretch and conform to your foot with wear.)
