Today’s post is a little off-the-trodden path for me. I typically stick to all things fashion, but since we are in the midst of “deep cleaning” and decluttering our 10-year-old home, I thought I’d share some of the products we are using and loving.
Like most good cleaning projects, this one had evolved into a bigger project than we had intended. However, we are taking the “seize the day” mentality with this one! It all started when I went to get something out of the closet underneath the stairway of our house, but “junk” was piled up to the doorway. I started to remove and get rid of item by item. Sorting through years of pictures, holiday decor, office supplies, and more. It felt really good to declutter that closet, and now it looks great!
After taking a look around at the house the hubby and I decided to do a top to bottom cleaning, declutter, and tackle some of those minor home repairs we’d been putting off year after year.
Today I’m sharing some of the tools that have been helpful in the projects so far.

Dyson V8 Plus Cordless Vacuum
We’ve had several of these Dyson Cordless vacuums and love them. I love the “cordless” feature. It is a true time saver. Let me also add that we don’t have any pets that live at our house. Our kid’s animals will come and visit occasionally. Also, the first floor of our house is all wood, and it’s pretty easy to keep clean.
We love that it can become a handheld vacuum with several attachments making it easy to clean the stairs, furniture, blinds, and baseboards. It does have good suction and 40+ minutes of battery life. However, after prolonged use, the battery will go dead. So we ended up buying another stronger battery for our Dyson. It has worked well and given extended life to our cordless vacuum.
Highly recommend. 4 out of 5 stars only due to the battery problem.

Honestly, I have a sensitive sense of smell, so I hesitant to get the Pura Home Fragrance Device. However, I have found several scents that are perfect for our home and not overwhelming.
Pura makes it very easy to program your diffuser and set it on a schedule. You can control everything from the app on your phone! It makes a great gift for any home-lover!
Some of our favorite scents: Unify Co. Salt, LAFCO Sea&Salt, Anthropologie White Amber Mandarin, NEST New York Grapefruit, and so many more! They offer a “sample scent” booklet for $5. It’s totally worth the five bucks to figure out the scents you love!
Electric Spin Scrubber
Consider this Electric Spin Scrubber to be the Big Daddy of all scrubbers! It is cordless, and has multiple brushes, scrubbing pads, and an adjustable and detachable long handle. We use this in the showers the most. It is great for reaching those hard-to-get-to places, like behind the toilet etc.
The bathroom is my least favorite room to clean, but this electric spin scrubber gets the job done quickly!

Admittedly, it’s my husband that uses this tool the most. He is a grout cleaning HERO in our family. It is tedious work down on your hands and knees! Not my kind of job!
However, this tool is cordless and water-resistant. It has replaceable heads and helps make the job a little bit easier. Anything is better than a toothbrush. Am I right?
Home Air Purifier
Next is this home air purifier with over 34,000 4.5 star reviews! I know that I have shared this air purifier, but it is a life-saver for me. My allergies are terrible during the spring and summer, so this little guy makes life a little bit easier to breathe! It’s easy to set up and move from room to room if needed. Also, we order new filters for it regularly, and they are simple to change.
This purifier can be used in any room to help remove smoke, hair, dander, dust, pollen, and more from the environment. Personally, I feel like it helps with my dust and pollen allergies.

To be honest with you, we don’t own this carpet cleaner, however, both of our married kids have one and love it. (They both have multiple dogs and cats as well!).
This little cutie can be used on carpet stairs, area rugs, upholstery, and automobiles. It has powerful suction and detachable tools to make the job easier. It is portable and has a large tank so you can get the job done quickly. My kids both have used the stain and odor remover solution that comes with it and found it worked well.

This is another tool we don’t actually own, but my father-in-law does and he LOVES it! He is always generous an allows us to use it when needed. This is what my husband uses to begin the grout cleaning process in the kitchen.
I love this steamer since it doesn’t use any chemicals to clean the surfaces. Also, it can be used outdoors in a workshop or garage.
Swiffer Power Mop Set
The Swiffer is a great tool to use between cleanings. I will typically use the Swiffer during the course of the week mostly in the kitchen, or if we are petsitting the kid’s dogs and they get their paws muddy or dirtly.
I love that I can easily remove the cleaning pad as many times as I need to while I’m mopping. That makes me feel as though I’m not simply pushing the dirt and germs around! It’s a nice thing to have if you don’t want to get out the mop and bucket, or the steamer.

Once again I’ll admit that we don’t own either of these two robot vacuum cleaners. However, both of our married kids do. They love them and highly recommend them to their friends.
This powerful Shark suction picks up dirt and debris on all floor types—tackling even the toughest of messes in your home. It has a SharkClean App & Voice Control feature. This one has all the bells and whistles for sure. It even self-cleans and empties itself. What’s not to like?
iRobot Roomba Combo i3+ (3574) Robot Vacuum & Mop
iRobot Roomba Combo i3+ Robot Vacuum & Mop
Both the Shark and Roomba have very similar features. This Roomba has the “self-clean” feature for up to 60 days. Also, both have lots of nearly 5-star reviews. However, Shark has over 34,000 reviews while the Roomba has less than 200 reviews.
Also, these two robot vacuums are similar in price. However, the Roomba has that wet/dry feature that promises to your house fresh and clean before you get home from work.
I feel like this is a personal decision based on the needs of your household. They both seem to be great products and have a fan following for sure!
