4 fall fashion trends we are already seeing in the stores this season are Western elements, animal prints, and a spotlight on burgundy and green colors.
Of course, these are the only trends we’ll be seeing this fall, but there seems to be an emphasis on these trends currently. It’s early August, and the clothing racks and shelves have been dressed in dark cherry, moss green, leopard print, and cowboy boots with fringe!
So, I figured it was a good time to dip our toes in the water, so to speak! I already have some “must-have” pieces on my radar. The brand Madewell has recently launched some amazing accessories with Western elements, like metal studs, that have caught my attention! Personally, I can’t wait to see more of these trends styled this season.

Trend 1: Burgundy
Top Row: Midi Dress || Slouchy Knot Bag \\ Bottom Row: Tall Square Toe Boots || Kitten Heel Ankle Boots
The first trend we’re already seeing in stores is this burgundy color. Of course, it’s known as other names: cabernet, wine, merlot, dark cherry… But whatever name you choose to call it, burgundy is in the spotlight this season. Personally, I’m going to be featuring pops of this color in my outfits. Adding a bag and boots, or perhaps simply carrying an oversized tote.
Trend 2: Green

The next color we’ll be seeing a lot more of is various shades of green, particularly olive and army green. Lately, I’ve been drawn to the more subtle shade of sage. It seems lightweight and soothing. However, I love the Birkenstock clogs that launched recently. Don’t forget to add the cute little athletic socks!
Trend 3: Wester Elements
Top Row: Denim Button-Up Shirt || Silver Fringe Earrings \\ Animal Print Belts || Strapless Horse Dress
Next, Western-themed elements continue to trend. This season, prepare for fringe, belts, boots, denim, cowboy hats, and lots of silver. As a native Texan, I’m not mad about it! Adding some of these items to an outfit as a gentle nod to the trend will be fun, or you can take it over the top by styling it from head to toe! Yeehaw!
Trend 4: Animal Prints
Top Row: Animal Print Midi Dress || Zebra Print Top Handle Bag \\ Bottom Row: Snakeskin Ankle Boots || Leopard Print Jeans
Finally, animal print has arrived back on the fashion scene! Again, this is not surprising since it is always around in some form. However, this fall, the trend will be out in full force! We’re talking full-length animal print coats, dresses, pants, and accessories. Also, move over the leopard print because the zebra and snakeskin are ready for action.
