The late summer edit is here! These are simply a few things I’m loving as we are nearing the late stages of summer. We are getting back to a semi-regular routine with the beginning of school next week for our jr. high and high school kids. So, I wanted to find some unique styles we could wear now and later as we enter September and even October.
I didn’t expect to love the balloon-sleeve maxi dress so much. But once I put it on, it made me feel so feminine and had a romantic vibe. Also, I had no idea how versatile the khaki pants would be. The wide drapey legs pair well with most tops and jackets. Finally, I’m on a mission to find some “dressier” pieces to add to my closet. So, I snatched up this black top with the mesh insert. It is a mixed-media style top. The bodice is made of a fleecy knit fabric, lending it a more relaxed feeling.

The first style I added to my August closet is this lovely flowy maxi dress. The polished cotton is breathable, and the puffy sleeves and deep v-neckline are so feminine. It can be styled with heels and a clutch or an oversized tote and strappy sandals. I don’t think you can go wrong with this one.
Sizing: Runs true to size. I’m wearing a small for reference.
Black Mesh Top & Straight Leg Denim

Next is this fun and flirty look with the black mesh top. The top can be worn with dressy trousers or casual denim. I’ve added these pointy-toed slingback flats with an animal print to give some texture to the look.
Note: I am wearing a nude strapless bra with this top. However, you could easily wear a pretty black bra that peeks through the mesh if desired.
These high-rise classic straight-leg denim are my current favorite. They hit just right at my ankle, and I love the medium wash. This denim can be worn year-round.
Sizing: The mesh top runs true to size and has a roomy fit. The denim runs a bit snug and only has a slight stretch. I sized up one for a roomy fit.
Linen Blazer & Straight Leg Denim

Also, I’m pairing this linen blend blazer with classic straight-leg denim here. The look is clean and chic. I added brown crisis cross sandals and a dark brown crescent bag to warm up the outfit. Then, as we enter fall, it’s simply to swap out the white linen blazer for a beige, olive, or black one and change from the sandal to a loafer.

Finally, this matching set was made for late summer and early fall! It is drapey, breathable, and comfortable. The khaki is a neutral palette, so there are many options when it comes to styling it with tops, sweaters, tanks, or jackets.
Sizing: The jacket runs true to size with a roomy fit. The pants are a mid-rise style and run true to size with a roomy fit. They have a button and zipper closure in the front.
