I’m featuring the 6 pieces I added to my July closet today! I’m trying to be intentional about the things I add to my closet and share them with you. This method seems authentic to me. I don’t want to simply share hundreds of articles of clothes with you, hoping you will like them and be willing to purchase them. Instead, I hope to help you and me build a closet of things we love and wear in multiple ways for seasons to come.
Also, I want to bring in pieces from previous months and style them with our current capsule. That way, I’ll have a way to share, and we can save the posts for future inspiration. So, we won’t merely consume “fast fashion” (although there is a time and place for that). We’ll have foundational pieces and fresh styles to mix and match each month.
Finally, don’t feel you need to buy everything I feature on the blog or any of my social platforms. Purchase only the things you love and see value in—the pieces you know you’ll wear and love to re-wear regularly. I know that we are all in different places in our lives. Maybe you’re a stay-at-home mom or grandmother and don’t need a “statement top” during this season of life. That’s fine. You opt for another piece. Or perhaps you are taking a cruise this year and need some fun elevated styles. Then, you’ll want to pick up the “dressier” items leading up to that vacation. I want you to know I totally understand, and I’m working diligently to provide various options! If you have any specific requests, please feel free to email me or leave me a comment below, and I’ll get back to you asap.
All of the opinions expressed here are mine. Affiliate links may generate a small commission if you click and choose to buy. This won’t cost you anything, but allows me the opportunity to share content like this with you regularly! Thank you for your support!
The V-neck Mini Linen dress & Strappy Sandals
V-neck Mini Linen dress || Capri Strappy Sandals || Silver Bangle & Earrings || Black and Raffia bag (similar linked)
The first time I saw this dress online, I knew I had to have it. The mere fact that it is 100% linen was enough to convince me! Since I live in Houston, where the heat and humidity are high in July, August, and September, this style will be a regular in my weekly wardrobe. Also, I love the a-line shift style and was crossing my fingers that it wouldn’t be too short. ( I am 5’6″ tall… so short dresses are always a concern.). That being said, I typically wear a pair of bike shorts under the “shorter” style dresses! (All of my bases are covered! Ha!)
Sizing: The linen dress has a relaxed fit and runs true to size. It is short, so I’d advise wearing bike shorts underneath.
The Oversized Ruffle Statment top & Denim Wide Leg Trousers & Ciao Mini Tote
Black Oversized Ruffle top || Denim Trousers || Ciao Mini Tote by Clare V. || White Raffia Earrings || Black Strappy heels
This second outfit is a personal favorite. I LOVED the oversized ruffle top immediately. The bodice is a fitted ribbed material, and the ruffles are a poplin fabric that creates beautiful voluminous ruffles. Be still my heart! This look is just so fun and flirty!
Also, I’ve been eyeing these denim trousers for months! They are super high-waisted and have deep hems for a chic look. They have a polished vibe, yet they can be paired with a graphic tee or a structured blazer for a professional style. These jeans come in several washes and a black or white option.
Finally, the Clare V. Ciao Mini Tote was a splurge for me. However, I love the black-and-white color combination and knew it would be a fun addition to my accessories. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that it is rather small. I think the word “tote” is a stretch of the imagination. But again, it’s just so darn cute!
Sizing: The top runs true to size. The jeans run slightly large, and they do have some stretch. Size down if you are between sizes.
The Cheetah Graphic Tee

Next is this “cheetah” graphic tee. It has proven to be so much fun to style. Basically, it pairs well with anything. I’m not exaggerating, either.
The tee does seem a bit casual since it has a raw or unfinished hem, sleeves, and a slightly distressed collar. However, once you put on a blazer, denim jacket, or oversized shirt over it, you don’t tend to notice the casual nature of it.
I think it is a fun piece I will reach for repeatedly. Animal print is always in style! (HA!)
Sizing: The tee has a relaxed, oversized fit. Runs true to size.
The Black Strappy Sandals
Initially, I wanted a pair of wrap sandals, but in the end, I decided to go with this pair that has a single strap around the ankle. They will be better suited to wearing with denim and trousers in early fall. I don’t love how wrap sandals tend to come loose, and I constantly have to tighten or re-tie them. Yet, they have the visual interest you get with wrap sandals, so they are a win in my book.
Sizing: The Strappy sandals are very comfortable. I have a wider foot, and I’m always concerned that strappy sandals will cut into my foot and make me uncomfortable, but that isn’t the case here! The sandals run true to size.
The Silver Dome Hinge Bangle & Orb Earrings
Silver thick silver hinge bangle || Silver small tear earrings || Gold necklace
The accessories for July are simple and chunky. I almost talked myself out of the silver dome bangle, and now I’m so glad I didn’t. It is truly the “cherry on top” of these looks for July. That’s what a good accessory will do. It will be the exclamation point for the outfit. FYI. The earrings and bangle are available in gold as well.
