These mid-thigh shorts are the perfect option for smoothing and contouring an everyday outfit. First of all, I wear these exact shorts nearly every day. They have strong compression that flattens the tummy and contours the hips and thighs. (If you want less compression, size up one.) I typically wear a size 6 in pants, so I went with the medium with these shorts from Spanx. (Medium is size 6-8). Also, the fabric is thin so they are a “no-show” through your garments!

Suit Your Fancy Strapless Cupped Mid-Thigh BodySuit:

This bodysuit has firm compression and comes in a thong or regular pant style. It has removable straps that convert 5 ways and a flap for when “nature calls”! It smooths and contours the back, torso, hips and thighs! Also, it is made of thin fabric that is a “no-show” through your garments!

Personally, I feel like shapewear is expensive. When I saw the price of the bodysuit, I was tempted to look for another alternative. However, I’m glad I didn’t because I wear it more than I ever thought I would! It works well with dresses, trousers, skirts, jumpsuits and denim. Basically, anytime you are wearing form-fitting clothes.

Lift It Up Backless Strapless Plunge Bra:

This is the classic sticky bra that is very popular during the summer or for special occasions dresses! In my opinion, this brand is the most “sticky”! If you live anywhere that is hot and humid during the summer, you know that this style of bra tends to fall off once you begin to get sweaty. So, when I found this brand and found that it actually “stayed put,” I was so excited! They have sizes A-DDD, are 100% silicone, and are under $30.

Pro Tip: When you are wearing shapewear for a special event, such as a wedding guest or as a mother-of-the-bride dress, make sure to check to see if you can see it underneath the garment. Some fabrics are super thin, such as silk or satin. If the shapewear is too heavy, you will most likely see the outline of it through the garment.

Wocoal Red Carpet Convertable Strapless Bra:

If you are not into the “sticky bra” situation, this strapless bra by Wocoal is FABULOUS! It has more than 2 thousand 5-star reviews at Nordstrom. I actually had my bra fitted when I went into the store since I intended to use it for my mother-of-the-groom dress. In the end, I wore the Suit Your Fancy bodysuit, but I’m so glad I bought this strapless bra, too, since I’ve worn it endlessly with summer dresses!

I’d say it runs true to size, but your best bet is to have it fitted in-store. It has removable and convertible straps. Also, it has gripper strips inside the top and bottom edges, with boning at the sides and back. Finally, it has light lining in the cups and an underwire for ultimate support.
