Olive Green for Late Summer and Early Fall

Hey friends! Today’s post is all about pulling together some great late summer outfits that will flow seamlessly into early fall! These olive green pieces act more like this summer’s neutrals. They pair easily with so many color palettes and patterns, and I can’t wait to take them directly into my early fall wardrobe!

Striped tank, Olive green Chinos, Utility Jacket, and sneakers.

I’ve been wearing these olive green chinos all summer long. They are fabulous with t-shirts, button-up shirts, or a simple tank. Here I’ve paired a striped lightweight sweater tank and sneakers with the chinos. Making it a casual, yet pulled together look.

Even though I’ve been wearing these pants with sandals all summer, it will be an easy transition to sneakers in the fall!

Also, this striped tank will be a great layering piece for fall too. It will be easy to style it under long cardi’s, denim jackets, or utility jackets!

Striped Tank: Runs true to size. I am wearing a medium here, and I wanted it to be roomy and as long as possible. Chinos: Run true to size. They do stretch out some during the day, and are slightly cropped. Sneakers: Run true to size. Very comfortable. I will probably change out the shoelaces to some plain white laces. (not included)

Beige Utility Jacket

Next, this beige utility jacket is a functional, yet fresh layering option too. It is lightweight enough to use right now while out to eat, or indoors when the A/C is cranked up. And it will be great in the fall as the temperatures begin to cool off a little.

I’m a big fan of beige. It is a neutral and pairs well with blue, black, brown and many other colors. It will be a closet basic for sure!

Utility Jacket: runs true to size. I’m wearing a small here. It has a roomy fit. Also it has a drawstring inside the jacket that can be tightened for a more fitted look.

Neutral Animal Print Top and Olive Green Drawstring Skirt

If you’ve been around here very long, you’ll remember that I’m a big fan of animal print. It’s always a great way to add a little interest to any outfit, and gives a trendy vibe as well. This dolman sleeve style is always a good idea since it gives some coverage to the upper arms and is cut on the diagonal giving the arm a long slim look.

I’m in love with this short drawstring skirt. It is lightweight and flowy, and can be styled with so many t-shirts, button-up shirts, and tanks, just like the chinos above.

Styling Pro Tip: as the weather cools off, swap out your sandals for a pair of sneakers, or leather mules.

Animal print top: Runs slightly oversized. It is also a boxy cut. I stuck with my regular size small here.

Olive green short skirt: Runs true to size. It has a roomy fit. I am wearing a size small here. I am 5’6″.

Olive Green Shirt Dress

The shirt dress is one of my FAVORITE style dresses, so when I saw this olive green cutie, I had to have it! It has functional buttons halfway down the front of the dress, and a removable tie belt. Also, it has two patch pockets on the top and deep pockets on the sides of the skirt.

Personally, I think this is such a polished look. It always looks professional, and crisp! The olive green is the perfect choice because there are so many options for shoes and accessories. I’ve stuck with a basic black lace of sandal here, but it would be fun to add a summer wedge, animal print ballet flat, or a suede bootie for fall.

Olive green shirt dress: Runs true to size. I’m wearing my regular dress size here. (small). It is a stretchy fabric.

Lace up sandals: Run true to size.

Safari Print Shirt Dress

Okay. This dress isn’t really something I would normally have picked out, however the ‘safari’ style print was simply too cute to pass up! I love the bold colors, and the block florals. The olive green fern leaves were calling my name.

Of course, it is also a shirt dress. It has functional buttons all the way down the front of the dress. It has a tie waist, and is a midi length. (again… my fave). I had to add the straw hat and bag to keep with the safari theme, but added a lace up black sandal to mix it up a bit and also tie in the hints of black.

It has a small cap sleeve, a darling preacher’s collar, and is made of a lightweight soft cotton fabric.

Safari print shirt dress: Runs large. I sized down one size. Normally I wear a size 6 in a dress, but I bought a size 4. It fits perfectly. Very roomy.

As you can see, olive green is the perfect choice of colors to end summer and begin fall. Also I feel like all of these styles would work for casual to dressy styles for ‘going back to work’, or ‘teacher style’ outfits!
