Hey friends! So this post is all about what we wore on our girls trip to NOLA a couple of weeks ago. I’m not going to lie, I’m keeping the verbiage light because there are so many pictures and links for clothing. The important things like fit and sizing will be listed. Always remember you are welcome to email me questions, and I will get back to you as soon as possible!
Also, this is our 2nd post in our NOLA travel series. We still have to share our beauty post with you as well!
Thank you to our sponsors!
A HUGE thank you to all of our clothing sponsors for this trip: Social Threads, Avara, Evy’s Tree, Krewe Sunglasses, Cabana Life, WHBM, Soma, PrintFresh, Loft, Spanx, and Vionic Shoes. We were all thrilled with all pieces we were gifted and able to share with all of you!
Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of this post to check out all of my blogger friends from Chit Chat Chic and what they were wearing in NOLA too! I’ve linked everyone below!
Social Threads
This ‘Beach’ sweater is a creamy, buttery soft, loose weave, and oversized style. I am wearing a small here, but could easily size down to an xs. It would be amazing over a bathing suit in the summer or even paired with your favorite cut-offs. However, I am loving wearing it right now with these super comfy high-rise, distressed denim in a lighter wash for spring! The jeans have a super casual vibe to them due to the chewed hem and distressing. They are very stretchy, so I’d say size down one size if you want a more fitted look.
One trend I’m loving for the spring and summer this year is the messenger bag with a removable strap. Social Threads has multiple style of bag straps. (See above for just a few options.). They also have a small or large messenger bag. My baf is considered the large size. The straps fit both size messenger bags. I went with a cool, neutral tone for the spring and summer months. However, I’m sure it will work well into the fall as well. Highly recommend!
Evy’s Tree
Look 1:
A new brand and online boutique to me is Evy’s Tree. They have so many fun and easy styles. This red striped ringer tee is just what this outfit needed for a little preppy flare. When it comes to cotton tees I always size up one size. This is a medium, and I’d say runs true to size. It will be super cute with joggers or cut-offs as spring rolls around!
The straight leg boyfriend denim is a really easy relaxed fit. Size down one size is these jeans. They have been a go-to denim in my closet the last several months. I love the slight distressing and frayed hem. I’ve paired these black leather chain mule with the denim because I love the contrasting colors and textures right next to each other.
Then simply top it off with a good black blazer! If there is one piece I’d spend a little extra money on, it would be a good quality black or navy blazer. It is a hard worker in your wardrobe! This one runs true to size.
Look 2:
Also, from Evy’s Tree is this FABULOUS sequin jacket. It is a blushy or rose gold color. I am wearing a medium here. I’d say it runs true to size. Don’t be afraid to wear sequins whenever, or wherever you’d like! The ‘old school’ rules no longer apply. I’ve chosen to stay with a dressy look with this lovely cowl neck cami (tts), black pull-on pants(tts), and strappy heels(tts).
However, this sequin jacket would be equally cute with a straight leg denim or ‘mom’ jean, a racerback white tee and chunky heels.
Look 3:
Finally, the last look for Evy’s Tree is this amazing long white button-up shirt. If you don’t have a longer white button-up shirt in your closet, this is the one to get! It is really soft and comfortable. I’d say stick with your regular size. This one I’m wearing is a medium, and a little too big for me. (I generally size up when I’m not sure, or I’ll order two different sizes.). This shirt isn’t structured, but moves easily, and could be tucked in if desired.
I’ve added a simple denim jacket and Spanx faux leather legging with my new sneakers to create an easy style. Also, if it gets too warm, I can tie my denim jacket around my waist, or simply leave it in the car because the white shirt covers the bum, and isn’t skin tight!
Spanx Wide Leg Pants
Next is Spanx new arrival for spring! Their wide leg pant in bright white does not disappoint either! I am wearing a medium here. (My regular Spanx pants size.). I am already thinking of all the ways I can wear these pants year round! FYI these come in 4 different soft colors. I might need to have them ALL!
The Chit Chat Chic Girls decided to go with a neutral theme for the day, so I knew I wanted to feature these Spanx pants because they are a show stopper! I’ve paired it with an oversized lightweight sweater and my favorite suede taupe boots.
Cheers to Spanx fabulous wide leg pants!
Avara
When I saw this floral maxi dress from Avara, I knew I wanted it for my future DIL’s bridal shower! It has the most beautiful details like the peplum, slit up the side, and gauzy sleeves. I’d say this dress runs true to size. I’m wearing my regular size small here. It has an elastic waistline all the way around the bodice for a little bit of definition.
Also, don’t miss the gold studded heels. They are a show-stopper themselves. I have already worn them several time with denim and pants. They run true to size. Highly recommend.
Finally, Avara has this purse in several colors for spring! I’m in love with this nude/taupe shade. It converts easily to a shoulder bag using the chain strap. It pairs perfectly with a trendy pair of denim or lovely dress. Really, this bag can be carried year round!
WHBM
These studded black suede shoes from WHBM make me so happy. Do you see the stud theme going on here? It’s super trendy right now, and so fun! And aren’t they so cute with these fab jeans with the chewed hem? These shoes run true to size, and they are amazingly comfortable! Also, the black jacket is from WHBM. It is currently out of stock, but they will restock it because it is one of their best sellers! Make sure to catch it the next time it comes back around. I’ve linked a similar jacket above. In my opinion, WHBM has the best jackets and they are always so chic! (jacket runs tts)
Next are these skinny flare leg denim from WHBM. I’m not kidding when I say they are so comfortable and they are not too long for flares! The darker denim is great for a more polished look. They also come in white. I’m considering getting those too!
Cabana Life
Cabana Life is a new brand to me. They have amazing dresses and clothing with SPF built into the pieces. Obviously this makes this brand perfect for resort wear, and summer time. This midi dress is just darling with the tiers, and the tie in the back. I’m wearing a medium here, but could have gone with my regular size small instead!
Don’t the colors just make you want to go on vacay? It does me! Make sure to pop on over to Cabana Life’s website and check out all their cute styles! I’m crushing on the palazzo pants right now! The pool is calling my name!
PrintFresh
This brand NEVER disappoints. Their spring release is just too good! I’m LOVING these pink and colorful ‘Good Dog’ robe and pj set below. (Wearing a medium in both the robe and pjs.) If I’m being honest, I wear the pj’s to lounge in all the time! They are super comfy, soft, and if the kids drop in with a friend, well at least I’m covered!
Are you a robe wearer? I am. In the morning, after a shower, between clothing changes, it’s a go-to for me. This kimono style robe is lightweight and keeps you warm… but not too warm! It’s a fine line. I know, and PrintFresh gets it too!
Put these on your ‘Mother’s Day Wish List’ for May 2022! The only trouble you’ll have is trying to decide which pattern to pick! Good luck with that!
Soma Intimates
If you’re looking for the most soft and breathable pjs on earth, Soma has them. Soma also gifted us pjs in August when we went to Utah, and I’m still wearing them weekly. In fact, I brought them on this trip to NOLA. I adore the ‘cool nights’ line. They are so breathable, and I don’t seem to get too hot at night in them. (I’m wearing a medium in this set. I always size up one size in jammies.) I wanted to use this picture because all of the pjs are just so good! Make sure to hop on over to their blogs to check theirs out too!
Vionic Shoes
Don’t leave home without these slippers or sneakers! They are both amazing for travel. Vionic shoes have technology built in that supports the foot and arch, making them comfortable all day long. They also have a wide variety of styles and colors to choose from. I’m wearing my regular shoe size here. Their shoes run true to size.
In fact, if I’d only taken these two pairs of shoes, I could have easily built my entire travel wardrobe around them. Of course, as a fashion blogger that’s never going to happen, but a girl can dream, right?
The Blue Door Boutique
If you are looking for a fun pair of statement earrings, or a unique gift for a girlfriend, check out my friend Marada Chaffin’s online boutique, The Blue Door. These darling star and pearl earrings will be great year round! They are fun and affordable! I can’t wait for you to see what the other girls from Chit Chat Chic picked out… Just too cute.
Loft in Baton Rouge
The moment I saw these slim leg olive chinos, I knew they’d be going home with me. I love a pair of lightweight chinos for the summer. They are so easy to style. Think white tee, or black tank top and sandals or sneakers. I sized up one size to keep these looking relaxed and so comfy even after they’ve been washed a dozen times!
Next, I’m in love with this navy sweater with the puffed sleeves. It will be a fabulous addition to my closet especially here between winter and spring. I’ve already worn it with my white wide leg pants from Spanx. I’ll be doing a try-on with both of these pieces in stories soon! I stuck with my regular size small for this sweater.
Krewe Sunglasses
These aren’t my first pair of Krewe sunglasses, and I hope to just keep adding to my collection! A new arrival this spring are the sunglasses above. I took home the ones on the left. They are a fun shape, and I love the gold and black shades together here. So chic.
Again, a HUGE thank you to all of these brands! We totally appreciate all your support and encouragement!
Don’t forget to head over to these gal pals of mine from Chit Chat Chic to catch all of their picks from the week in NOLA. I’ve linked everyone below!
I hoped you’ve found this post valuable, and I’d love to hear your thoughts, questions, or ideas for future blog posts.
Happy shopping!
XOXO,
