4 Ways to Style Chelsea Lug Boots

Hey friends! Today I want to bring you 4 ways to style Chelsea lug boots. As I was getting dressed the other day I realized just how much I have been wearing these black boots. It seems they pair well with just about anything! From dresses, to denim, and even joggers, the Chelsea lug boots are stealing the show!

It is late in the winter season, but I still feel that this lug boot trend will not be going away anytime soon. So, keep your eyes peeled for a good sale. I’m linking a similar boot to the one I’m wearing. (It is currently sold out.). I live in Houston where the temperatures are milder, but I still feel like I’ll be reaching for these boots through the end of March.

Here are just 4 ways to style Chelsea lug boots.

With the mini or midi dress

The boots with tights and a mini, or short dress is so flirty and fun. However, they can also be worn with the midi or maxi dress. They bring a little bit of an edge to a very feminine look.

With skinny jeans or jeggings

Next, wearing your favorite skinny jean or jegging (any shade or wash will do) with the lug boot gives the style a updated, trendy feel. Personally, I like my denim to hit right at the top of my boot, however this is no absolute rule when it comes to length. It seems to be personal preference.

Pro Tip: When wearing black on your feet, add dark accessories and/or a black top to balance out your look. Notice in the picture above I have on a black cardigan, black belt, and black boots. This is typically referred to as the ‘sandwich rule’.

With most any legging

Pink tunic sweater l Faux leather leggings l Chelsea lug boots

This pink sweater is a perfect choice for Valentine’s Day (or season). It is an oversized tunic sweater that is uber soft and comes in other colors. I love styling an oversized sweater with a pair of my favorite leggings like these faux leather ones from Spanx. Notice that the black of the leggings and boots balances out some of the softness of the pink sweater.

With a straight leg jegging

Oversized sweater l Straight leg denim l Chelsea lug boots

A pair of straight leg denim with a sweater and Chelsea lug boot seems to be my favorite look though. I love the wash on these jeans, and they are just the right length for me to wear with the boots! Add to that this slightly oversized, drop shoulder sweater and you’ve got yourself the perfect winter outfit.

I just checked to make sure that these jeans were still available online. They are fully stocked in all sizes and on clearance for $22.

There are still so many other ways to style these Chelsea lug boots. I’d love to hear what your favorite way to style them!

As always, I hope you’ve found this post valuable. Please drop your thoughts, questions or ideas for future blog posts in the comments below.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
