10 Natural Household Cleaners For Your Home

Hey friends! January is the month to clean and organize the house, so as I was cleaning over the weekend, it reminded me that I haven’t shared all the natural household cleaners I use.

I am linking only one natural cleaner that I am currently using, however there are many ‘clean’ or natural brands that are effective and reasonably priced. You can generally pick them up at a local grocery store, Walmart or Target.

However, I have gotten hooked on this natural brand that is based out of Austin, TX called Puracy. (This is NOT a sponsored post. ) We have been using these products for a little over a year now, and my hubby and I are obsessed. So I have to share them with you!

Puracy Natural Household Cleaners

As a child I had severe breathing problems. Asthma related. My mom noticed early on that my breathing difficulties were even worse when I was around pesticides, chemicals, fragrances, and the list goes on. So she systematically began getting rid of the household cleaners, laundry detergents, perfumes and started replacing them with homemade, or natural concoctions she made on her own. At the time there weren’t many ‘clean’ brands.

Times have truly changed. There are many ‘clean household’ products that are made without perfumes, sulfates, bleach, chlorine, phosphates, and much more. It’s really nice to be able to pick it up at the store or order from Amazon!

Puracy is one of those natural household cleaners that I have grown to love over the past year. I have been using the Natural Surface Cleaner, Natural Laundry Detergent, the Natural dish soap, and Natural Hand soap regularly, and truly love them. We have started purchasing in the refill pouches which is cost effective and great for the environment!

They do have a light fragrance, but no harsh chemicals. I love the lemongrass, clean linen, and citrus and sea salt. They have several other fragrances that I can’t wait to try out.

Also, the stain remover is the BEST formula we’ve EVER used. We simply spray the formula on the stained garment, and toss it in the wash. It has removed every stain! Absolutely amazing.

  • Natural Surface Cleaner-Safely and effectively cleans every household surface: chrome, counters, electronics, floors, furniture, granite, glass, marble, sinks, stainless steel, tables, toys, and any other non-porous surface
  • Disinfecting Surface Cleaner-an alcohol-free disinfectant approved for use on raw or fresh fruits & vegetables, yet proven to kill 99.9% of germs while leaving your surfaces without dirt, gunk, grime, or sticky residue.
  • Natural Laundry Detergent-Safe for sensitive skin, 10x concentrated to last. Eliminates stains, odors, sweat, and dirt from 96 full loads of the dirtiest laundry.
  • Dishwasher Detergent Packs-Plant-based formula with enzymes safely break down the toughest caked-on food & leave dishes sparkling. Guaranteed.
  • Natural Dish Soap-Powerful & concentrated to do more cleaning with less. Safe & naturally-derived, leaving hands soft and dishes sparkling, no gloves required.
  • Natural Hand Soap-Plants, minerals, water, and your dirty hands combine to produce a surprisingly natural clean you can instantly feel.

Natural Stain Remover-Six plant enzymes eradicate the toughest of stains, while gently preserving & restoring your fabrics. This one’s my favorite stain remover ever! Highly recommend!

Handy Household Cleaning tools

January is that typical time to begin cleaning and organizing the house. Probably because all of us long to get things back to a ‘normal’ state after the chaotic holidays.

I’ve linked some of my favorite house cleaning tools below. They all have excellent reviews, and I have found them so helpful for when I get ready to clean the master bathroom, kitchen, or any room in the house.

I store all of my cleaners in one place so that I can quickly and easily load my cleaning caddy and get to work!

  • Microfiber Towels-Built for perfect cleaning: 3x the fiber density, edgeless for 100% usability. I love using these to dry surfaces after I’ve cleaned them. They just leave a sparkle!
  • Long Handle Brush– I have a couple of these brushes. I use one for dishes in the kitchen and one I have in my cleaning caddy for the bathrooms.
  • Toilet Brush and Holder– The clean lines and look of this bathroom brush and caddy are so appealing. It tucks nicely in the corner of the bathroom or behind the toilet.
  • Basic Brush-I love to use a S-shaped brush in the bathrooms. They come in particularly handy for the soaking tub and the shower walls, door and floor.
  • Turbo Mop– Obsessed. I’ve always been a rag mop kind of gal, but when I changed over to this turbo mop, I haven’t looked back since! Highly recommend.
  • Kitchen Towels- Give me all the uber soft towels that soak up all the water. I use these towels as I’m cleaning around the house, and also have them stocked in my kitchen.
  • Scotch-Brite Greener Clean Sponges-To be totally honest with you, I don’t really love sponges because they harbor bacteria. However, these greener clean sponges are perfect because you can easily recycle them after a couple of uses!

DIY the Basic Cleaners

One thing I did learn from my mom was that white vinegar, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide are amazing cleaners that most people have in their own kitchen.

I am including one cleaner that isn’t toxin-free. The Magic Eraser is a handy, quick way to clean hard-to-get-to spots, or really tough hard water stains that simply won’t budge.

  • The Magic Eraser– I use this mostly in our shower. The hard water stains are almost impossible to get rid of. This seems to be only product I’ve found to help minimize these shower stains.
  • 45% Vinegar-It softens fabric and removes musty, mildewy smells. During the last rinse cycle, pour 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar into an already-running machine. In case you’re looking for more ways to use vinegar to clean your home, click here.
  • 3% Hydrogen Peroxide– Great for whitening laundry, and when combined with baking soda scrubs away soap scum and stains. For more ways to use hydrogen peroxide around the house, click here.
  • 3 Pair Cleaning Gloves– I always wear gloves when cleaning around the house. These are latex free and come in medium or large sizes.
  • 2 Pair of Glass Spray Bottles– I’m slowly trying to replace all the plastic items in the house. Glass bottles are a great place to start this journey.
  • Baking Soda-When combined with natural dish soap or hydrogen peroxide, you’ll make a gritty paste that’s ideal for scrubbing away soap scum and stains (without damaging surfaces). Want to find out 22 ways you can use baking soda around the house? Click here.

As always, I hope you’ve found this post valuable. I’d love to hear your thoughts, comments, or ideas for future posts! Please comment below!

Happy cleaning!
