It’s HERE! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale begins July 11 and runs through August 6th. Love it, or hate it… You’re bound to hear LOTS of information about the items that are discounted for this relatively short period of time!
If you are new to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it takes place each year around this time. Basically, Nordstrom is offering price cuts on fall favorites, upcoming trends, and shopper must-haves! Typically, Nordstrom will bring back items that were bought and loved the year before, as well as some new brands. And, they will also offer some discounts on things that “never” go on sale. Of course, this creates a lot of excitement within the shopping community!
Nordstrom has a process for rewarding it’s patron’s who have been dedicated “Nordstrom” shoppers over the years. There is a tiered system, where depending on whether you are a Nordstrom cardholder and the amount you spend yearly, that determines the order in which you get to shop the sale. Obviously, those people who have spent the most (you can find out what level you are here) get to shop first and so on until toward the end of the sale, even non-cardholders are able to shop the sale. Of course, there are good and bad aspects of this process.
Also, super popular items tend to go very quickly, and may or may not be re-stocked. This can be very frustrating to those people who don’t get to shop until later. However, last year I noticed that depending upon availability of the merchandise, Nordstrom would “restock” various “soldout” items. This varies year to year.
Throughout today’s post I will be giving several “Pro Tips” relating to the #NSale. Hopefully, these will be helpful to navigating this sale. Also, for today’s post I have linked my personal favorites. However, you can shop the entire listing here at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

The Chain Mules
We’re starting the #NSale off strong with the chain mules by Steve Madden. Typically they have been a crowd favorite. And of course, periodically the brand will update the look. So this year it looks like the slightly rounded toe with the woven chain is the new “IT” style. The “Cassady” style shoe comes in six trendy colors for fall. Also, the “Calle” style mule is very similar except that the chain is the same color as the shoe, giving it that monochromatic look that is currently so popular. Did I mention that this style is NOT on sale.
**Sidenote** I have the Cassady in black leather with a gold chain. I wear them throughout the fall and winter here in Houston. They are very popular, and versatile. A closet “must-have” for me!
327 New Balance
Next is this season’s “IT” sneaker! Actually, this sneaker just continues to increase in popularity! As soon as New Balance restocks this style, it will sell out.
So, this year Nordstrom has included just a few of the 327’s in the sale. The one I think will sell out quickly will be this all white version with the perforated N. It is monochromatic goodness, and so on trend. However, if you can’t pick it up at the #NSale, I’ve linked the New Balance website directly. Frequently they will restock or release a new color in this style. But, they very rarely put these sneakers on sale.
Why is this style so trendy? I believe it’s due to the fact that you can style them with just about anything in your closet. I’ve worn mine with dresses, denim and dressy trousers. The sharp edges give a clean look to the shoe and they are very comfortable. Which also makes them a fabulous travel essential. New Balance has truly hit the winning combination with this shoe.

Classic Denim
Next on the list is classic denim. Really, there can’t be enough denim options in my book! And when you find the right style, fit, and comfort… there’s NOTHING better.
For the sale, there are so many great brands that I am interested in trying out! Some brands are well over $100, while other brands are under. So you have to decide what you are willing to spend for your “dream denim”. I’ve linked some of my favorites today, and I intend to do a denim try-on of these styles as soon as I can order, and receive them!

Sweater Weather
Can it actually be “sweater weather”???? Not in Houston, TX!!! But, during the Nordstrom sale they are offering so many great styles and deals. Most of the styles I’m featuring here today are under $50. However, I didn’t link any Barefoot Dreams in this post today. (Still to come!)
I’m loving all the TopShop sweaters for fall! Chunky, soft, and in rich hues! Of course, I think the half and quarter zip sweaters, and sweatshirts will continue to be super popular in the fall/winter. So, I’ve linked a few. And also the short cardigan will remain on the short list of styles everyone flocks too.
Handbag Heaven
I have a handbag addiction. There. I said it. And I’m loving all the styles in this sale. As of late, I feel like Coach has been upping their game. They have always been an iconic brand, and I think they have been releasing some amazing styles as well as colors.
Quality, style, colors and brands… so many choices here! The only drawback might be the pricing on these bags. Most of them are well north of $100.
Simply Shapewear
Finally, last summer my son got married, so I was on the hunt for the BEST shapewear. One piece that I found and LOVE is this strapless bra by Wacoal. It is truly the BEST I’ve found in the category. AND it’s under $100. In fact, it’s coming in at $49.99! It’s definitely worth a try if you are needing a good strapless option.
The second piece that is worth purchasing is Spanx’s “Suit Your Fancy Bodysuit”. It is simply incredible. I also bought the bodysuit for my son’s wedding. Which, I didn’t think I’d wear again after the fact! Boy, was I wrong! I have worn it numerous times to smooth out the lumps and bumps with form fitting dresses as well as other outfits. The one negative to the bodysuit is the price. However, during the sale it is more than $50 off! Highly recommend!

Just an FYI about the 327 style sneakers. If you have smaller feet you can sometimes find the same styles in Big Kids sizes. I was on a hunt for 327 with the black N (After seeing you wear it actually.) earlier this spring and it was sold out everywhere. I found them in kid’s sizes on the NB website much cheaper. I wear a size 6.5-7 in sneakers and bought a Big Kids 5.5. They were slightly wide for me, but the length was good.
