We’ve made it through the first week of January, friends! Now I’m ready to reset, refresh, renew with these styles from JCPenney!
I’ve chosen pieces that will serve me well over the next few months of ‘winter’ here in Houston! Looks that I can easily layer, yet still look stylish.

Reset
First, I’m resetting my exercise routine by trying to pre-plan my workouts for the week! And in my opinion, it’s always easier to workout in cute and comfortable activewear I got at JCPenney. So I’ve picked up some workout wear I think will be just perfect for the next few chilly months!
This sweatshirt is super soft, and stylish! It has a funnel neck with functional ties, and drop shoulders for a relaxed vibe. It does run oversized, so if between sizes be sure to size down one. I’ve linked several other sweatshirt options in case this one is sold out it your size. It comes in several colors.
These joggers are amazingly comfortable. They are lightweight which is perfect for our southern climate. Also, they have zipper pockets to keep keys or valuables safe if taking a long walk is the workout of the day! They have a wide waistband and drawstring to ensure the perfect fit. These joggers run true to size.
Refresh
Next, I’ve refreshed my workwear ensembles, by selecting a few new pieces from JCPenney that are well made, and can transition easily from office to dinner out or date night! (I’ve also selected a couple of pairs of boots and dress shoes to add to my wardrobe!)
This animal print satin wrap dress gets five stars from me! The fabric is a medium weight, perfect for winter. It had a small snap at the top to keep everything secure, and the ruching at the waist gives a long and sleek silhouette. This dress comes in several colors and patterns. It runs true to size.
I’ve added these stiletto black shiny croc boots to this look. Again, they simply add such a chic vibe to this workwear look. The boots are great quality. They zip up the inside of the boot.
PRO STYLE TIP: Layer a black blazer over the dress, and add some silver earrings and chunky silver chain necklace. The small silver chain bag will pull the entire look together for a polished look.
Renew
Finally, I’m committed to taking time weekly to renew my mind by tackling my reading list! Of course, I want to feel comfortable, and cozy while I’m snuggled up with a good book. So, I’ve found some pieces that layer effortlessly and keep me warm all from JCPenney.
I’ve selected all the cozies for this lounge wear look. The long lightweight open front cardigan, crewneck ribbed long sleeve top and black pull on pants are soft, and comfortable.
The cardigan runs true to size. The ribbed crewneck t-shirt is fitted, so I sized up one size for a roomy fit. The pull on pants with the slit at the front hem are fitted. They run true to size.
Lastly, even if you haven’t had a chance to set new goals for the new year, or even had the time to reflect on the past year, it’s not too late. January 1st has come and gone, but there’s still time to make some changes for the good! Also, to identify the things that went well last year.
I know that for myself, we’ve still had a house full of kids, and we have a birthday every week in January. So the beginning of the month doesn’t always ‘feel’ like a new beginning to me. However, I remind myself that as long as I take the time to reset, refresh and renew my goals, thoughts, habits it doesn’t really matter what the date is. It only matters that I actually made some positive changes to my life.
