It’s August and everyone is thinking about ‘back to school’ time! So I thought it would be appropriate to bring you a couple of easy teacher outfits to wear right now. As a former teacher this transition season when everyone is headed back to school can be a bit tricky workwear speaking. It’s difficult to shop for new clothes when the weather is sweltering outside, and all the stores have started putting out their fall line-ups. UGH.
On the other hand, I felt like wearing my ‘summery’ styles to work was a little bit too casual, or wasn’t ‘work’ appropriate at all. Furthermore, I didn’t want to spend money on new clothes I would ultimately end of wearing a couple of times before it was time to put them away.
So, I’ve been putting together some easy peasy outfit options that teachers can wear right now, and also wear later simply by adding a layering piece like a denim jacket, blazer, or long cardigan.
The Classic Button up Shirt and Flare Denim
The classic button up shirt will forever be my favorite look, and it is so easy to style this piece! This gingham is fresh and preppy. I love styling it with a linen blazer during the warmer months, but it can transition to fall with a sweater blazer or navy structured blazer. It runs a little small, so I’d size up one size if you like a roomy fit. I am wearing a medium in the photo.
The flared cropped denim also have a nod to summer with the shorter nature of the jeans. But the darker indigo wash pushes them firmly into fall. Especially if you are in a warmer climate for September and October. I felt like these jeans ran a little snug. I’d size up one size if you like a roomy fit.
Don’t miss the DARLING pink ballet flats. I couldn’t resist picking these up for fall! Even though they are a moody pink shade, I think they will be a fun addition to so many of my outfits. They also come in a light blue that could be fun as well. These flats run true to size.
Clip Dot Tiered Short Dress
This knit dress is just adorable. I love the olive green which lends the style to fall, but it is still flowy and cool for this late summer weather. Don’t miss the puffed sleeves, and texture of the clip dots. This dress also comes in black. I am wearing a small here, and would say it runs true to size.
For a more ‘fall’ like style, simply add a denim jacket, or long cardigan, closed toe shoes, and perhaps a fun pair of darker tights.
As I said earlier, I am working hard to find some great back to work outfit for teachers.
