One last weekend before Mother’s Day! So today I thought we’d talk about a few things that may not be a linkable gift for mom. It was brought to my attention earlier in the week that some moms, particularly if they are over a certain age, aren’t interested in receiving another ‘thing’. I believe this is a true statement. Even as a midlife mom, I’d prefer to have a sweet note, photograph, quality time spent with them, or a phone call from my kids! So today I’m featuring unique gifts for the mom that has everything!
**On a personal note** I’m using pictures of my sweet kids, Brian and Aubrey in today’s post. Brian is 24 years old and graduated from Texas A&M last May. Since then he has gotten engaged, and has moved to the Dallas area for his job. Aubrey is 21 years old, and also at Texas A&M, and she is counting down the days until she graduates as well! At the end of May she will be ordering her Aggie ring, so she is very excited about that. They are such a blessing to me, and I love being their mom. (I also have 3 AMAZING step daughters, Cami, Scarlett and Arden!) (Notice the Texas A&M theme going on here!)
- Boxed food delivery service: Hello Fresh, Wildgrain, Butcher Box, Home Chef there are so many food services that are terrific! Even if it is only for a few days out of the week, it can take a lot of stress off of ‘mom’ to prepare a delicious meal. Generally, you are able to pick particular meals to fit your likes and dislikes of foods, allergies, or special types of diets such as Paleo. Also, they deliver everything needed for the meal for a certain number of people. I’m linking ones that I’ve tried, or heard good things about their brand! I’d love to add to my list if you know of others you like. Just comment below.
2. Fresh flowers, potted plants, faux flower arrangements: I love fresh flowers anytime, but a lot of practical moms would prefer a potted plant, or a faux arrangement. Potted plants are great for the mom who has the time and desire to care for them. Of course, faux flower arrangements can add color, a cheerful vibes, and requires little to no attention. I’m linking a few planters, flower pots, and faux arrangements below. There are also lots of good fresh flower delivery services as well!
Also, if you are in the Houston area, you might want to check out this Enchanted Garden center! It’s our favorite, and we’ve been going there for years! The plants, trees, veggies are all hand selected and are best grown in this area. We currently have a lemon tree, hibiscus, and lime tree that we bought from this nursery.
For a fresh flower delivery service try Urban Stems the Verona arrangement or The Ellington arrangement! Both are beautiful!
3. A Digital Picture Frame: This may sound like just another ‘thing’ but truly, it does bring so much joy because anyone in the family can download current, or old pictures to the digital frame, and it scrolls through them continuously. It’s so much fun to see new pictures come through too!
The one we have is Photo Spring. It has been super easy to set up, download pictures and videos, and is easy to use! We’d highly recommend it!
4. Echo Show 5: For those long distance moms and grandmothers, this is a fabulous idea! Stay close by visiting face to face (via video) with the Echo Show. It also has so many other functions, but I feel being able to see, hear and interact with her on a regular basis is life changing for everyone involved. Of course, as is with most technology someone with some techie experience is needed to set these products up, and train mom or grandma on how to use them!
5. Printfresh Pajamas: I just had to include my favorite pajamas on the list today! There are so many different bold and bright patterns that simply make me happy, and are sure to make any mom or grandma smile too! I’m linking some of my favorites below. They run true to size, however I always size up one in my jammies for a roomy fit. Otherwise, order her normal size.
This is the last Mother’s Day Gift Guide edition. Head on over to Gift Guides if you are searching for more gift giving ideas!
As always, I hope you found this post valuable. I’d love to hear your thoughts, questions, and ideas for future posts!
Happy shopping.
