Hey friends! With the holidays quickly approaching, I thought I’d share my Thanksgiving outfit ideas. All of these outfits include some version of a sweater and denim. This makes the process of creating or recreating an outfit of the day super easy! My first suggestion to you will always be to shop your own closet before purchasing something new. Use these outfits as inspiration, and create your own version by using what you already have at your fingertips!
Of course, if you’re anything like me, you want a look that is fresh, and new. So, I’m linking all the these outfits, and I’m linking a few other similar options for all the shoppers out there to browse through!
Funnel Neck Sweater Outfit
This funnel neck sweater is such a classic, yet trendy look. The sweater is from Free People, and runs oversized. Here I’m wearing a small, and you’ll see that the sleeves run long and it has a dropped shoulder seam giving it that relaxed look. When I slipped on this sweater, I immediately noticed how uber soft the fabric was, and also that it is fairly heavy. The color is ‘birch bark’ and I can’t decide if it’s more brown or dark maroon. Either way, I love it, and highly recommend! FYI: it comes in several colors!
I’ve paired this sweater with a straight leg, darker washed denim. I love the relaxed look, and the lived in color. These jeans are high waisted, but fit like a glove. Not too tight, yet not too loose. I’m wearing my regular size.
Finally, I’m wearing my favorite chelsea lug boot. I think they are the perfect style to complete this Thanksgiving outfit. These boots run true to size, and I love them because they aren’t heavy and are very comfortable! 5 starts for these chunky boots.
V-Neck Wide collar Sweater Outfit
Thanksgiving outfit number two is equally as comfy! I love the v-neck, wide collar, and chunky weave of this sweater by Free People. Once again, you’ll see the signature dropped shoulders and longer sleeve length. Also, around the collar and cuffs you’ll notice a ‘raw’ hem look. All of these features leading us to the relaxed and comfortable look. Here I’m wearing an extra small. I sized down one size simply to keep the look a little more fitted. You could easily stick with your true size, and know that it runs oversized.
With the denim here I am wearing my favorite relaxed straight leg denim in a vintage wash by Oliver Logan ! Y’all! These denim are so comfortable, and I LOVE the way they look! They are a high-waisted style, but run oversized as well. In fact, I sized down one whole size in this style. Even with that, they are very generous in this size. I’m not lying when I say, I wear these jeans a couple of times a week!
Finally, these lug sole loafers are super cute with this outfit. The sherpa on the top gives them some texture, and ties the outfit together. These loafers from Vionic are amazing quality, and come in several colors. The insole is supportive as well as cushiony. Again, I highly recommend any shoes from this brand, because I know and trust their brand.
Chunky Knit Sweater Vest Outfit
My final Thanksgiving outfit includes this darling chunky knit sweater vest! This vest can be layered over a shirt like I’ve done here, or worn alone. It has a mock neck,is a soft blush or beige color, and hits right at the natural waistline. I am wearing a small here for reference. It is soft and stretchy. I’ve paired it here with denim, but it would be darling with a maxi skirt and boots too! (I’m saving that style for another post!)
As far as skinny jeans go, J Crew is my go-to choice of denim. These jeans are stretchy, come in several different washes, and are high waisted. However, I know that they have mid-rise style jeans as well. This cut hits just above my ankle, and I am wearing my regular size in denim here.
Again, you see I’m getting good use out of these chelsea lug boots! Seriously, I’ve paired them with so many outfits, and love that they give a slightly edgy, and trendy vibe to the look.
The bottom line here is that we want to be comfy for the holidays, but also cute! These looks hit the nail on the head.
