Hey everyone! It’s not every day that I come across a brand like, Rivet Revolution, that’s donating 10% of every sale to help spread awareness, education, support caregivers, and fund research of this disease. Alzheimer’s is a disease that I am very familiar with. In fact, my grandfather suffered from it for more than 10 years.
There are an estimated 5.8 million Americans of all ages who are living with Alzheimer’s- dementia in 2019. It is the 6th leading cause of death in the US. That is more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. Meaning that 1 out of every 3 seniors die of Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Also, this disease alone will cost the nation $290 billion this year. Astonishing really! Currently, there is no cure for it. However, today there is a worldwide effort underway to find better ways to treat the disease, delay its onset, and prevent it from developing.
For those people who are the caregivers for loved ones with this disease, words cannot describe the weight that is voluntarily carried over the years. It is a tremendous act of courage on their part! In many cases, spouses or household family members are left alone to deal with the many symptoms of the disease itself. Grief and heartbreak seem to be a common by-product for these families. (I know it certainly was for us!)
There is one brand, founded in 2016, that has decided to create a worldwide Revolution due to this disease and it’s caregivers! The Rivet Revolution.
