With summer rapidly coming to a close, that means it’s almost time for me to head back to work. As I contemplate the items in my closet that I’ve been wearing for the past few weeks of summer, I realize that flip flops, shorts and t-shirts are not going to cut-it when it comes to “professional dress” attire. So, I am now culling through the clothes that could be worn and come up with a list of new things to fill in the gaps for the beginning of school.
So, here are my top picks. I have tried to find some fun, versatile pieces that will transition easily into late fall. Here is what I’ve come up with.
J Crew Factory Outlet has these Classic blue wash high-rise skinny jeans with a 29” inseam. They are long enough to roll a small cuff. These run true to size and will be an easy option for casual Friday dress. These jeans are currently on sale! Both J Crew and J Crew Outlet give teachers a 15% discounts on all purchases! Love!
At J Crew this fabulous Signet hobo bag in Italian leather comes in several different colors. I chose the pebbled brown thinking it would be an easy to pair with outfits. Again, this was on serious sale. Plus, they allowed be to use the additional teacher discount!
Seeing as the weather here in Houston is typically mild through October I also added these two cute pair of shoes. The first is a Sam Edelman slide. The Bay Cutout Slide sandal is totally worth every penny! It will pair nicely with the purse mentioned earlier. Also, trending this season is the Sanibel wedge by Treasure and Bond. My only complaint is that it is out of stock online and in the store nearest to me in my size. :/ Both sandals come in multiple colors. I’ve got plan B just in case this one remains unavailable in my size.
This Super-Long Open-Front sweater in Palomino is also super soft and comfy! It hits right above the knee and makes a nice layer. It would look fabulous with white denim jeans as well. This sweater comes in several colors and it was on sale for less than $35. 🙂 In fact, when I went to the store, it was out of stock, so they ordered it online with no shipping fee and sent it to my house.
